Horizon was named Artist of the Month in 2015 by public poll on one of the biggest forums for music in India. This inspired them to hit the studio and start recording their debut album which they believe has a very modern/alternative rock feel to it.
The band started way back in 2013 when Aditya Bajaj & Adamya Bajaj decided to start making their own music. With little or no availability & experience of studio equipment, Adamya decided to pursue audio engineering.
‘It became clear right away that we had something worthwhile after the first few demos’ says Aditya, and ‘we knew the time was right to introduce this modern rock sound back in the scene’.
The band was soon joined by Bhagyesh who made the mixes sound even stronger with his Petrucci style playing. ‘At first we just had this sort of riffs & melodies put together in our head,’ recalls Adamya, ‘But when Bhagyesh came along and started putting those fillers & solos on top of them, we were like, Yeah! This could actually work’.
They finally found Suprakash who made the entire album come together with his complicated and groovy bass lines.
The combination worked and it gave Horizon the unique edge that defines the band’s sound.
The album is scheduled to launch in the beginning of 2018 and the band hopes that people would like it as much as they do.
